Captain Terry Teves is a local boy, born and raised in the islands. He has been a commercial fisherman for the past 20 years.
With the ocean as his playground, fishing is all he knows. From trolling the top to fishing the bottom (his favorite), you’ll be taken to his favorite spots for that most unforgettable experience.
Terry learned a lot about the ocean from his father who was a deep sea diver for Black Coral.
Captain Terry is passing along his knowledge to his twin boys as they also share the love and respect of our ocean. When he has a day off, he’s back in the water, skiing in the Wailua River.

“Hands down the best fishing experience I’ve ever had.We took off at approximately 6 a.m and made our way out to the open waters off the coast of Kapa’a. Including myself and my brother, there was 1 more passenger on our charter and of course Captain Terry and one of his sons.
We trolled for approximately 20 minutes once off shore and our first bite happened. My brother reeled in a huge 25-30 pound yellow fin tuna and it was a beast! From there, it felt like taking candy from a baby. Between the 3 of us we reeled in a whopping 15 beautiful fish including the yellowfin tuna, amberjack and crevalle jack.
The secret sauce was Captain Terry and his son. These guys are the real pros and definitely helped us be a success. A portion of the fish is divided and filleted once we returned to shore allowing for 1-2 meals while on island and let me tell you, it’s some damn good eatin’.
I highly recommend this charter whether you are a beginner or avid fisherman, you will have a blast.
I will 100% do this again on my next trip to Kauai.

“It’s always a good day on the ocean with Terry. My husband fishes with this family owned business at least a couple times every year when we visit Kauai.
He caught a beautiful Ono (Wahoo) as well as Aku this trip. We ate like royalty during our stay at our condo – Macadamia nut crusted filet quickly baked in the oven; Ono steaks grilled & fish chowder from scratch … if you could even find these fresh fish meals on the island they would more than justify the cost of spending the day on the boat with Capt. Terry (who is not only a hoot; but he also knows his stuff and is VERY safety conscious at all times).”
